How To Work the Delivery Availability Location Check System in RestroFood?

How To Work the Delivery Availability Location Check System in RestroFood

RestroFood Delivery Availability Checker allows customers to check before they order whether your restaurant delivers to their location. This saves them time and saves you from getting orders you can’t actually deliver.

This guide explains it in two parts:

  • How you (the admin) set it up
  • How customers use it while ordering

What the Delivery Availability Checker Does?

It’s a small popup/form where a customer:

  • Picks a delivery type (Delivery, Pickup by me, or In-Restaurant)
  • Picks the branch they want to order from
  • Enters their location (either as an address or a zip code)
  • Instantly sees a result: “Delivery is available” (or not)

Once it confirms delivery is available, the customer taps Start Order and continues shopping.

Two Ways to Check Location

RestroFood supports two location-checking modes. You choose one in the admin settings.

ModeHow the customer checksWhat you need to set up
AddressCustomer types their full address (e.g., “Mirpur 10 Roundabout, Dhaka, Bangladesh”) into a search boxA Google API Key
Zip CodeCustomer picks their zip code from a list of buttons (e.g., 1200, 1208, 1220)Just the list of zip codes you deliver to, no API key needed

Simple rule of thumb:

  • If you want the easiest setup with no extra keys, use Zip Code.
  • If you want customers to search their exact street address, use Address (this needs a Google API key).

Setting It Up as the Admin

Go to your WordPress dashboard sidebar:

RestroFood → Settings → Location Settings tab → Location sub-tab

Delivery Availability Location Check System

You’ll see these options:

  • Delivery Availability Checker Active – turn this ON to switch the whole feature on for your shop.
  • Location Type – choose either:
    • Address, or
    • Zip Code
  • Set Google API Key – only needed if you chose Address. Click the “Create Google API” link nearby if you don’t have a key yet.
  • Set Single Branch Shop Location – if you only run one branch, enter your shop’s location here so the checker knows where to measure delivery distance from.

There are also Modal, Checkout, and Rider Map tabs next to Location Settings; these hold related settings for how the popup looks, how it behaves at checkout, and the delivery rider’s map. Check those tabs if you want to fine-tune the look and feel further.

How Customers Use It – Address Method

Delivery Availability Location Check System
  • The Delivery Availability Checker popup appears on the shop page.
  • Customer selects a Delivery Type: Delivery / Pickup by me / In-Restaurant.
  • Customer selects a Branch from the dropdown (e.g., “Mirpur Branch”).
  • Customer types their address into Search your location (e.g., “Mirpur 10 Roundabout, Dhaka, Bangladesh”).
  • The system checks it instantly and shows a result bar: “Delivery is available”.
  • Customer taps Start Order to begin browsing and ordering.

How Customers Use It – Zip Code Method

Delivery Availability Location Check System
  • Same popup, but instead of typing an address, the customer sees Select Your Location Zip Code.
  • They tap one of the zip code buttons you’ve set up (e.g., 1200, 1208, 1220).
  • The result bar shows “Delivery is available” for that zip code.
  • Customer taps Start Order to continue.

Rechecking Location at Checkout

Customers don’t just check availability once, they can double-check it again right on the checkout page, in case they change their mind about the branch or location.

On the checkout page, look for a link called “Toggle Delivery Availability Form.” Clicking it opens the same checker widget again, side-by-side with the order details:

  • Left side: Deliver/Pickup Branch Name, Delivery Type, Delivery Schedule Type, Deliver/Pickup Date, and Deliver/Pickup Time.
  • Right side: The same Delivery Availability Checker – search by address or pick a zip code, and get the same “Delivery is available” confirmation.

This means a customer can confirm delivery is possible right up until the moment they place the order, no surprises after checkout.

Quick Recap

  • Turn the checker ON in RestroFood → Settings → Location Settings → Location.
  • Choose Address (needs Google API Key) or Zip Code (no key needed).
  • Customers check availability first on the shop page popup, and can recheck it again at checkout via “Toggle Delivery Availability Form.”
  • A green/teal “Delivery is available” bar means they’re good to go, they just tap Start Order.

That’s the full flow, from setup to checkout, simple to configure and simple for your customers to use.

Benefits of the Delivery Availability Location Check System

Implementing the Delivery Availability Location Check System in your online food ordering platform brings several advantages:

  • Reduces Failed Deliveries: Customers know upfront whether their location is eligible, minimizing cancelled orders.
  • Enhances User Experience: Customers appreciate quick and clear delivery confirmation.
  • Saves Time for Staff: No need to manually confirm addresses or reject out-of-zone orders.
  • Boosts Customer Trust: Transparency builds confidence in your service.
  • Mobile-Friendly: Ensures smooth operation across all devices.

By clearly outlining the value of this system, you help readers understand why it’s essential for modern restaurant businesses.

Conclusion

The Delivery Availability Checker is a small feature that solves a big problem: customers ordering from places you can’t deliver to. With just one setting, you decide whether they check by address or zip code, and from there the system handles the rest, on the shop page and again at checkout.

Set it up once, and every customer gets a clear yes-or-no answer before they place an order, saving you cancelled orders and saving them wasted time.
